MICROSOFT AND BILL GATES
- In 1997 China instituted the “Great Firewall.” China’s censoring was in full practice.124
- In 2005, Bill Gates launched a blogging software program called MSN Spaces in China. CEO Bill Gates admitted that they censored according to the directions of the Chinese military. Words censored by Bill Gates on MSN Spaces were, “democracy,” “human rights,” “freedom of expression.” Bill Gates also blocked searches for the words, “Tibet independence,” “Falun Gong,” and “Tiananmen Square.”125
- April 18, 2006, the then Chinese President Hu Jintao visited Microsoft's campus in Redmond, Washington and had dinner at the home of Bill Gates, Microsoft's chairman and chief software architect.126
- 100,000 words were studied to apply censorship and surveillance programs to Bill Gates’ products like SKYPE.127127
- President Xi's cyber-espionage military community has censored and surveilled all Skype users since 2008.128
- In 2008, Bill Gates lied to Stanford Students and told them that no one could censor the Internet even though he had been censoring and helping the Chinese cyber-espionage military community since 2005.129
